An Activist Stands Her Ground in Bahrain
In a video interview, the activist, Zainab Alkhawaja, says:
“My husband has told me that because of my activism as well, he has been tortured. Basically, they kept telling him ‘Someday we’re gonna get our hands on your wife and we’re gonna cut her tongue off.’ The government is targeting our families to silence us basically, and that makes me even more insisting that I will not be silenced; that no matter what you do to my father, to my husband, I will not, I will not keep quiet because this is about the cause of my country. This is not just about me personally or how my family is suffering.”
